Justice Housing Yakima
Ellie Lambert Memorial Fund
In early 2016, a small group, including dedicated advocate Ellie Lambert, came together to create Justice Housing Yakima and tackle affordable housing and chronic homelessness. Ellie, who believed deeply in treating everyone with dignity, shaped our mission and championed Cottage Hill Place, a development of up to 30 housing units centered around a community center on land secured near Milroy Park in late 2018.
Even after her cancer diagnosis, Ellie remained the project’s driving force, reminding us that every person needs a home, deserves respect, and belongs in a healthy community. She passed away in May, shortly after the Board pledged to name the center “The Ellie Lambert Community Center” and established the Ellie Lambert Memorial Fund. Today, her vision lives on as a true community effort, one you can join by contributing to the memorial fund to make Cottage Hill Place a reality.
